Battle Royale - May 19, 2017

- New plan: fight through hordes of undead, take care of the problem in the ruins of Arrandale so that Thessalie can spend the time to Resurrect Eldon
- Long Term Goal: Destroy Lellzutho's sword, but first FST need to figure out how
- Thorzin says most of the undead seem to be Ghosts.
- Thorzin will stay in his tower and keep it safe so the girls have a safe place to retreat if needed. He is very glad to stay behind. (Thorzin is a Divination wizard compared to Sharai's Evocation wizardry.)
- The next morning, FST get up and have brekkie, and then get back on the road to Arrandale.
- The farther the girls travel the more and more overcast the sky becomes until it's nearly as dark as night.
- There are no visible ghosts, but there is an ominous feeling. S feels the ominousness with her magically senses as well.
- The more they travel there starts to be debris and the road starts to be in disrepair.
- F notices movement in a nearby field out of the corner of her eye. She looks closer and sees something that looks human shaped way over there, but can't see any more detail than human-shaped.
- She points it out to T which also gets S's attention. S casts Leomund's Tiny Hut as a ritual.
- F throws a rock in that general direction and hits the ground next to the thing. It appears to be looking around. It appears to be floating above the ground.
- FST decide to rest until morning at this point.
- After another little bit of time, some of the floating, glowing orbs appear and try to convince FS to "come play" by which they mean get attacked by ghosts.
- After S and F finish Trancing, there are now six floating orbs around the edges of the Hut.
- The clouds are too thick to give any distinction about the time of day.
- When the Hut pops into non-existence, there are 8 orbs.
- They start closing in, S wakes T, she Turns Undead, 5 of the 8 orbs explode.
- The remaining three orbs making a wailing sound and move to attack

Orb Battle
- Felosyal moves adjacent to Orb1, activates the poison in her magicky dagger, then stabs it for 10 piercing dmg. It is immune to poison. Then she misses it with her longsword.
- Thessalie misses O2 with Guiding Bolt then misses it with Spiritual Weapon as well.
- A ghost skeleton with an incorporeal sword appears and moves towards the group.
- O1 misses F with its melee spell attack.
- O2 flies through S (it feels cold), then hits her for 6 lightning dmg.
- GS2 appears and moves to F, misses her twice
- Sharai knows that undead are immune to necrotic, poison, and cold dmg. They are resistant to fire, acid, lightning, thunder, bludgeoning, piercing, slashing dmg (from non-magical weapons). The are also immune to the conditions Charmed, Frightened, Grappled, Paralyzed, Prone, and Restrained. Now that the situation is properly assessed, she casts Eldritch Blast on O2 for 15 force dmg.
- O3 moves to T and misses her.
- F Disengages from O1 and GS2, moves to flank O2 with S then murders it into a poof of grossness
- T Turns Undead again, O1 is destroyed, O3 is unaffected, GS1 is Turned, GS2 is unaffected. Then she uses her Spiritual Weapon on O3 for 5 force dmg.
- GS1 runs 5 sq away.
- GS2 moves adjacent to T and slashes her for 11 slashing dmg and 6 cold dmg then misses her.
- A human-looking ghost zombie with torn flesh and tattered armor wielding a spectral flail appears and moves adjacent to S, then hits her with the flail for 24 bludgeoning dmg and 5 cold dmg.
- S casts Chain Lightning on GZ, O3, and GS2 for 8 lightning dmg.
- A little girl ghost who looks horrifying with no skin on her face and bones poking through her muscles appears and moves adjacent towards the group and screams a horrifying wail. S & T take 13 psychic dmg and F drops to 0 HP.
- O3 moves between S & T and misses T then it moves away from T she stabs it with her dagger for 3 piercing dmg and 2 radiant dmg, then moves towards F and does not manage to consume her life energy.
- F's amulet auto-stabilizes her, so she does not make a Death ST.
- T casts Blade Barrier in a 60' diameter circle around FST such that GS2 and GZ are among the blades. Then the SW hits the GS2 for 12 force dmg.
- GS1 runs away some more.
- GS2 takes 38 magicky slashing dmg and dies.
- GZ takes 13 magicky slashing dmg then hits S for 6 bludgeoning and 4 cold dmg. Then again for 7 bludgeoning dmg and 3 cold dmg. Then he Disengages moves away from T inside the Blade Barrier.
- S casts Prayer of Healing so FST regain 16 HP.
- GZ3 appears and charges into the Blade Barrier taking 29 magicky slashing dmg. Then it attacks T for 18 bludgeoning and 4 cold dmg.
- GG sends a ball of sonic force at S for 9 thunder dmg.
- O3 attacks F for 8 lightning dmg.
- F stands up and stabs O3 with her magicky dagger for 26 piercing dmg. It dies. Then she Hides as a bonus action for a Hide score of 15.
- T casts Heal on F for 78 HP, then hits GZ3 for 11 force dmg.
- GS1 runs away from the battle.
- GZ1 charges F and misses.
- S moves to flank GZ1 with F and casts Eldritch Blast on it for 11 force dmg.
- GZ3 takes 34 magicky slashing dmg from the Blade Barrier and dies.
- GG sends another ball of energy at S for 17 thunder dmg.
- F stabs GZ1 for 59 magicky piercing dmg ultra-killing it. She Hides as a bonus action gaining a Hide score of 28.
- T casts Guiding Bolt on GG for 13 radiant dmg then hits it with her SW for 12 force dmg.
- S casts Eldritch Blast on GG for 35 force dmg killing her.

- S casts Leomund's Tiny Hut and all the girls pant excessively.

- 7,240 XP ea for 103,030 XP total ea. - LEVEL UP

Fight with brigands
- Archer2 misses T, misses F, and shoots S for 9 piercing dmg + 2 poison dmg
- Sharai (liar, liar spells of fire) casts Fireball on A2 & A1 for 34 fire dmg then she moves into the bush next to her for cover
- Brute2 slashes T with a crude longsword for 8 slashing dmg and again for 21 slashing dmg and 7 slashing dmg
- Felosyal moves to flank B2 with T and stabs him with her magicky dagger for 26 piercing dmg then knicks him with her longsword for 1 slashing dmg
- Thessalie casts Spirit Guardians then Spirtual Weapon hitting B2 for 9 force dmg
- B1 takes 15 radiant SG dmg then moves to flank F with B2 then slashes F his crude longsword 13 slashing dmg then misses then slashes her again for 12 dmg
- A1 misses T, then misses her again, then shoots her for 8 piercing + 2 poison dmg
- A3 misses F, then misses her again, then misses again
- A2 misses F, then misses her again, then misses again
- S casts Fireball on B1, B2, A1, & A2 for 39 fire dmg (on each)
- B2 takes 12 radiant SG dmg, then turns and slashes F for 10 dmg, then again for 14 dmg, then misses her
- F stabs B2 with her magicky dagger for 26 piercing dmg then slashes him with her longsword for 2 dmg
- T hits B2 with her SW for 12 force dmg, then casts Cure Wounds on herself for 12 HP
- B1 takes 15 radiant SG dmg, then slashes F for 14 dmg, then misses her twice
- A1 moves back from his companions then shoots T for 10 piercing dmg and 3 poison dmg and she is poisoned for 1 hour, then he misses her twice
- A3 moves away from the battle then shoots and misses F, then shoots T for 6 piercing + 2 poison dmg, then shoots T again for 6 piercing + 2 poison dmg
- A2 moves away from the fight to spread out as well then shoots and misses F, then misses T, then shoots her for 5 piercing +1 poison dmg
- S casts Fireball on B1, B2, and A1: B1 & B2 take 26 fire dmg and A1 takes 13 fire dmg
- B2 slashes F for 9 slashing dmg, then again for 13 slashing dmg, then again for 16 slashing dmg
- F stabs B2 for 30 piercing dmg killing him
- T hits B1 with her SW for 11 force dmg, then casts Mass Cure Wounds on FST for 26 HP then she dodges into a nearby bush
- B1 yells "Let's get out of here!" and runs.
- The archers all also run.

- Sharai groups the girls together and casts Leomund's Tiny Hut so they cannot be attacked for a while
- T casts Prayer of Healing on herself and F for 20HP
- After Short Rest, T is at 103 HP and F is at full health.
- S checks the carts, they are badly damaged and empty
- F goes and checks the dead body, he has 261 GP (87 GP ea)

- After a few more days of travel, F notices another group  of men hiding in the bushes, but as they near, those men turn and run.

- Another day or two of travel after that, they come upon a large group (maybe 100 people) some with wagons.
- T spends an hour or two casts Create Food and Water to feed everyone dinner.
- One of the travelers says he was a brewer in Arrandale, but the city is pretty much a pile of rubble.
- FST spend a day or two with the large group providing food and water while Mending things.

- After another few days of travel, FST come upon a large clearing littered with the tools of war. There are piles of armor and weapon. There are wagons full of munitions. There are a few siege weapons. Some of the armor and weapons look like they once had people in them, but the bodies have disappeared. The army seems to have been made up of soldiers from the Houses Mondhal, Arnell, and Breland. There are no Rhoanor on this field.
- While F is looking through some of the armor (most of it has clothes, smallclothes, personal effects, and the like inside), S & T look around past the edges of the clearing and they notice a tower on a hill a few hours walk away
- T spends most of the afternoon blessing the field of the (assumed) dead by walking the perimeter and then a figure 8 pattern (symbol of Mishakal) asking that Mishakal guide the spirits of the dead to a restful afterlife.
- After the sanctification ritual, FST walk towards the tower. They reach it at dusk.
- S notes that the big double door entry to the tower is covered in protectice runes.
- T knocks politely on the door. FST all feel a presence watching them.
- S in particular realizes that they are being scried or similar.
- T says, "Hello?" There's an almost audible pop, then runes on the door glow blue and then fade into the door, and the doors open enough for them to enter.
- There is a short, roly-poly man with a beard, maybe a half-human, half-halfing. His name is Thorzin. He knows the girls because he is acquainted with Mistress Whiteborn of Rhoanor. He was the equivalent of her position for the Hedrimond ruling Counsel back when it existed.
- He helped by Scrying events on the borders.
- He knows that the elves have moved south and now occupy a large area of the northern plains. Along the eastern coast they have moved as far as the Little Tooth. (Basically they took Breland and Arnell's territory.)
- The orcs have descended from the mountains and now occupy most of the land once ruled by House Dalen.
- House Kolstad is the only ruling house left, and they have their area and the area once ruled by House Berg.
- T asks if he could Scry F's parents. He might be able to if she has an item or something that belonged to them.
- He saw an enormous, blue angel with giant wings and sword as large it was descended from the heavens and battled with the tiny, chaos Lellzutho-Eldon monster until it was fully destroyed then it ascended back into the heavens.
- He warns them that something nefarious is developing in the ruined city of Arrandale. Something has warded the city against Scrying.
- Also there are undead occupying most of the land from the crossroads to Arrandale.
- S shares with Thorzin the "address" for the library at Meuhlhorn now that he is forceable retired from his duties to Hedrimond by the destuction of Hedrimond.
