Tentacles Here and Tentacles There - May 7, 2016

- R.I.P. Annabelle. Long live Annabelle. Chocolate chip cookies in your memory.
- BMI / % Fat tests
- Stories about pets getting their claws stuck in various things

- The stairs  curve around to the west and with Felosyal leading, Thessalie in the middle, and Sharai bring up the rear the girls enter a small room with a door to the west and the south. The smell of dankness and decay has amplified significantly and the wall look like they are crumbling slowly and have patches in places.
- T casts Prayer of Healing into S's Ring of Spell Storage.
- T wiggles the handle of the southern door. It's stuck.
- FST try the door on the western wall instead. It creaks open.
- There is another long narrow room with the long part of the room extending south. S sticks her head through the door, and sees a pit that starts about 10' from the door and that there are four vacant-eyed fish people on the other side of the pit on another landing of sorts.
- FST enter the room, and look into the pit. About 20' down there is a sort of a haze so that you can't see the bottom of the pit. T drops a stone into the pit, but F is the only one that hears it hits bottom and she senses that there is something weird about the surface of the haze, but she's not sure what.
- It's about this time that the fish people notice the girls and start throwing things at them.

In Which the Party Fights Yet More Fishy-People
- T casts Sacred Flame on FP1 for 7 radiant dmg, then casts Spiritual Weapon next to it for 10 force dmg, then she backs up so that her back is to the wall.
- F shoots FP1 with her longbow for 6 piercing dmg.
- S casts Fireball on the whole group of FP for 33 fire dmg to FP1, FP3, and FP4, but FP2 dodges the worst of it for only 16 dmg. (FP1 is not dead yet. . .)
- FP3 throws a small-ish spear at F for 4 piercing and 3 lightning dmg then he misses with her on his second attempt
- FP4 does the same to F for 5 piercing and 2 lightning then he hits again for 3 piercing and 5 lightning
- FP2 hits S for 8 piercing and 6 lightning and then again for 3 piercing and 2 lightning.
- FP1 hits S for 4 piercing and 2 lightning and then again for 5 piercing and 6 lightning.
- T hits FP1 for 9 force dmg with SW, then casts Cure Wounds on S for 12 HP.
- F misses FP1 with her longbow
- S casts Fireball again for 24 fire dmg to FP1, FP2, FP3, and FP4 dodges this time and takes only 12 fire dmg.
- FP3 steps around the body of its companion, then misses S on his first throw, then hits her for 4 piercing and 2 lightning dmg.
- FP4 throws a lightning barb at F for 4 piercing and 4 lightning and then again for 8 piercing and 5 lightning
- FP2 throw at T for 6 piercing and 5 lightning dmg and then misses her.
- T casts Cure Wounds on F for 14 HP, then moves her SW over to FP3 and kills it.
- F shoots FP2 for 12 piercing dmg.
- S casts Magic Missile for 4 force dmg to FP2 and 8 force dmg to FP4.
- FP4 misses T then misses her again!
- FP2 throws at S for 8 piercing dmg and 2 lightning and misses her on his second try.
- T misses FP2 with her SW, then casts Sacred Flame on it for 12 radiant dmg.
- F shoots FP2 for 10 piercing dmg, killing it!
- S misses FP4 with Fire Bolt.
- FP4 misses T and then hits her for 4 piercing and 5 lightning.
- T misses FP4 with Sacred Flame, then hits him with her SW for 6 force dmg.

- The last Fishy-Person's body falls into the pit, and hits something the girls can't see then when it falls into the mist it starts floating just below the surface of the haze.
- While looking around T hits her shoulder on something invisible. "Ow!" S says "What?" "I hit something. I think it's invisible." "Throw some sand on it." There is an Indiana Jones style invisible path over the pit.
- T tells S "You go first and poke it with your stick."
- S walks across what looks like nothing and makes it to the other side. T & F follow suit. It feels like a rope bridge that has been turned invisible.
- There is a long narrow room through the open arch to the south. There is a row of sarcophagi down the center of the room and the are niches with skeletons in the wall. There is a doorway near where the girls are standing in the western wall and there is a door on the far (south) side of the room as well.
- Before entering the Mausoleum room, the girls take a 10 minutes breather for T to cast Prayer of Healing as a Ritual. They all get 18HP from that. S and F also spend some Hit Die.
- S looks closely at the floor and walls before the girls enter the room, but she doesn't see anything that resembles a trap.
- S also reaches out with her magicky senses, and when she brushes up against something it pushes back this time, and tries to burrow into her brain. She takes 2 psychic dmg.
- S sits down hard and curls into a ball reflexively while she pushes the presence back out of her head.
- T whimpers and asks S what happened. S explains.
- The girls cross the room to examine the southern door. It is 10' high and made of two 5' leaves, so that it is also 10' wide. There are geometric shapes carved into it. The very last sarcophagus is open, and it looks like there is a bed inside of it. F rifles through the blankets and finds 30GP.

(Crackberry fiasco at this point.)

- S closely examines the doors for traps and magic and find neither. She attempts to open the door, and while it is heavy so manages to pull them open.
- There is a large chamber with two large braziers on either side of the room. There is a dais on the far side of the room with a lectern containing a few books with a large, almost throne-like chair behind it. The chair is flanked by two vacant-eyed Fishy-People, and there is a humanoid creature standing at the lectern. It is about 6'-4" tall; has thick gray skin; a bald, human-like head, but where his mouth would be there are four tentacle like things extending like a beard; is wearing a long black robes; it's left arm ends in a normal looking hand, but the right arm ends in a tentacle with four suckers on the end.
- The Tall Creature says, "Good. Bring me the artifact."
- S: "No." T whimpers again.
- The Tall Creature points its hand at the girls, and the Fishy-People begin to advance.

BOSS BATTLE
- F moves to FP2, then she stabs it with her magicky dagger for 6 piercing dmg then again with her normal dagger for 1 piercing dmg
- FP1 misses S with a spell
- FP2 stabs F with his short spear for 4 piercing dmg, grappling her, and then misses biting her.
- T runs into the middle of everything and calls down her Spirit Guardians, then she casts Spirit Weapon next to FP2 and hits him for 8 force dmg.
- TC takes 4 radiant SG dmg, then moves to T, then he wraps his tentacle arm around her neck then rips it off for 18 bludgeoning dmg.
- S casts Fireball for 33 fire dmg on all the enemies. The book and the cushion on the chair also catch fire.
- F moves to flank TC, Disengaging from FP1, then engages the poison on her dagger and stabs him for 14 piercing dmg, but it resists the poison.
- FP1 takes 5 radiant SG dmg, then moves to S, misses stabbing her with his short spear, but then bites her for 5 piercing dmg.
- FP2 takes 10 radiant SG dmg, then moves to flank T, stabs her with its short spear for 3 piercing dmg, then misses biting her.
- T casts Guiding Bolt on TC for 11 radiant dmg, then uses her SW to attack him for 10 force dmg.
- TC takes 8 radiant SG dmg, then chokes her for 19 bludgeoning dmg, then misses her when he tries it again.
- S casts Fireball dealing 22 fire dmg to the two FP and 11 to TC.
- F stabs TC with her magicky dagger for 22 piercing dmg killing him!

- TC's tentacle falls limp from around T's neck and it falls over. The FP shakes their heads and come out of a trance.
- T immediately turns to the one next to her, and says "Are you okay?! Are you okay?! Are you okay?!" He burbles in Fishy-Person language at her. She casts Tongues and asks again.
- He asks her general person coming out of a trance questions "Where are we? What happened?" He sounds a lot smarter than any of the other Fish-People any of them have talked to yet.
- Sharai examines the tentacle, which is clearly the "Arm", and she gets a compulsion (magicky compulsion) to put her hand in the cupped opening at the base of the Arm. She succeeds on her Saving Throw (Wisdom) and does not put her hand in the thing. They take the Arm and empty Thessalie's pack and stick the curled up Arm in the bottom and then pack things around it and on top of it, so she isn't likely to touch it by accident.
- T apologizes again and again for killing so many Fish-People as they lead him to the stairs, then he leads them through the one room on the ground floor they didn't enter before (N door in the mushroom farm room) the store room.
- While they are crossing through the room, F spots a bag with something shiny poking out of it. She peeks into it and sees various-sized, un-minted golden rocks. She pockets the bag for later.
- The Fish-Person opens a door in the storage room than opens what is (from the other side) a secret door in the antechamber of the dungeon.

Spirit Guardians for the Win - April 29, 2016

- Cabbage flowers!
- Juliette balcony
- Watermelon Lime Ale and Apple Graff
- Pizza kerfuffle

- The first door on the left (west) side to reveal a large, rectangular room parallel to the long, rectangular flooded room in which there were somehow sharks.
- The long sides of the room have little mounds covered in mushrooms. It almost looks like a farming operation. There's an open door on the far side (north) of the room, and the girls see a few Fish People dash out of the room as they enter it. There is also closed doors on the south and west sides of the room.
- S feels certain the magicky presence she's felt is coming from the north.
- FST walk into the next room (to the north), it is square-ish and there is a statue of a golden dragon's head with red ruby eyes. It looks like there is a natural rock / boulder sticking out of the cut-stone, dry-stacked wall. There's another closed door across the room in the north wall and a closed door in the eastern wall as well. No Fish People in this room.
- F seriously contemplates stealing the ruby eyes from the statue. She notices that it is pretty grimy, actually, not shiny and well-kept.
- T starts to walk over to the eastern door, but as she crosses in front of the stone, two golden eyes open in the stone as she approaches it.

- Girls versus Tentacle Monster Battle in the Square-ish Cave
- T squeaks as the natural "stone" extrudes tentacles, then casts Guiding bolt at the Stone Creature for 11 radiant dmg, then she calls her Spiritual Weapon next to it and deals 6 force dmg to it, then she backs into a corner.
- F calls the poison onto her magicky dagger and then throws it at the SC, but misses. It opens its mouth and shows alarmingly large, sharp teeth.
- Tentacle 1 extends to T and she dodges.
- T3 extends to F and grabs her for 1 bludgeoning dmg, she is grappled. F now has Disadvantaged on Str checks and STs.
- T1 extends to S and grabs her for 3 bludgeoning dmg, she is grappled. S now has Disadvantaged on Str checks and STs.
- SC pulls S to his body and bites her for 31 piercing dmg.
- S slaps her hand against the SC's body as she casts Vampiric Touch for 25 nectrotic dmg, and heals 12 herself.
- T moves behind S and uses Cure Wounds on her for 12 HP, then she hits the SC with her Spiritual Weapon for 7 force dmg
- F escapes T3's grasp, and then runs into the corner as far from the SC as she can get.
- T3 extends towards her again, but misses grabbing her.
- T1 grabs T for 3 bludgeoning dmg, she is grappled. T now has Disadvantaged on Str checks and STs.
- SC bites S for 20 piercing dmg.
- S misses the SC with her Vampiric touch.
- T casts Spirit Guardians and then attacks the SC with her SW for 10 force dmg.
- F misses a thrown attack with her magicky dagger then Disengages and runs over to the the corner where she's in the SG's protection area
- The SG kill all the Tentacles, and deals 10 radiant dmg to the SC. The SC tries to bite S but misses.
- S misses again with Vampiric Touch
- T misses both with Sacred Flame and her SW.
- F moves to the SC and stabs it with her poisoned magicky dagger for 12 poison dmg and 9 piercing dmg, then she stabs him with her other dagger but misses
- SC takes 9 radiant dmg from SGs, and dies. It slumps down off the wall into a fleshy, rock-like pile.

- S and F go over to the statue and looks at it more closely. It looks like a statue. No traps as far as they can tell. They both still refuse to touch it.
- T opens the eastern door and it leads to the sunken flooded room where they fought the sharks.
- S opens the the northern door and it leads to a long, narrow corridor whose floor is covered in a thin layer of slimy water. There is an open archway on the far side of the tunnel, but it is too dark to see past without getting closer.
- As FST move through the tunnel and into the room there are 3 or 4 large rats eating the scummy stuff. There is a door in the eastern wall. S turns the handle, but the door is stuck. F grabs S and T grabs F and they all pull and the door pops open. They fall backwards into a heap.
- This room has a couple of columns holding up the roof though the northeast corner of the room looks like it is starting to collapse, but the floor is covered in inky blackness. There is a door in the southern wall that S is pretty sure leads back to the flooded room. S steps into the room and the inky blackness moves away from their feet and starts to coalesce and leaves behind skeletons of rats and other small rodents as it forms into to two mounds.

- Battle in the Column Room
- S casts Fireball in the middle of the room so that both Black Mounds are encompassed and take 27 fire dmg. The columns also take some dmg and look about half as big as they did before the Fireball.
- T casts Sacred Flame on BM1 for 12 radiant dmg then moves to the position between S and F.
- BM1 oozes over to S, then creates a gooey-looking pseudopod and smack S with it for 9 bludgeoning dmg and 12 acid dmg.
- BM2 oozes to F, then misses smacking her
- F stabs BM2 with her magicky dagger for 6 piercing dmg, then with her other dagger for 4 piercing dmg. The blade now looks slightly corroded and now has a -1 to dmg rolls.
- S casts Vampiric Touch on BM1 for 7 necrotic dmg and she regains 3 HP.
- T misses BM1 with Sacred Flame this time and then uses her necklace to cast Cure Wounds on S for 10 HP. The orb now looks like a faded gray-green rather than the vibrant green it was before.
- BM1 oozes around S and smacks her with a pseudopod for 5 bludgeoning and 12 acid dmg.
- BM2 misses F with its pseudopod.
- F Disengages with BM2 and moves to flank BM1 with S and slices it with her longsword for 16 slashing dmg cutting in two and now there are now two of them. (BM1 and BM3)
- BM3 smacks F for 4 bludgeoning and 7 acid dmg. (Thank you, Warding Bond!) Her armor is slightly dmg so she now has a -1 to AC and her longsword now has a -1 to dmg.
- S casts Vampiric Touch on BM1 for 11 necrotic dmg and she regains 5 HP.
- T casts Spirit Guardians.
- BM1 takes 15 radiant SG dmg and dies!
- BM2 takes 8 radiant SG dmg then moves to T and misses smacking her.
- F Disengages and runs to the southeast corner and then short BM2 with her longbow for 6 piercing dmg. The arrow disintegrates after a few seconds.
- BM3 take 11 radiant SG dmg then moves to S and smacks her for 8 bludgeoning and 16 acid dmg. S is down!
- S get a 17 on her death ST.
- T uses the other green orb on the necklace to cast Cure Wounds on S for 11 HP then she casts Sacred Flame on BM2 for 6 radiant dmg.
- BM2 takes 6 radiant SG dmg then smacks T for 7 bludgeoning and 27 acid dmg.
- F shoots and kills BM2 with her longbow. She then side steps so she can see BM3 around the southern column.
- BM3 takes 6 radiant SG dmg and dies!

- FST decide to go back to the room with the Dragon statue and rest for the night in S's Leomund's Tiny Hut spell. FST get a full rest and then T spends time Mending all the acid dmg on the equipment.

- There is discussion about why the group never takes Short Rests to spend Hit Die, and it's because in 5e Short Rests are required to last at least an hour, and it never seems to make sense to take a full hour's break in the narrative, so from hence forth Short Rests are back the 4e 5 to 10 minute length.

- FST go back to the mushroom room and go through the door in the western wall. When they open the door there is a decided odor of decay. There are the corpses of three Fish people. The backs of their heads look blown out and their brains are missing. Extra eww.
- There are stairs facing north that lead down.
- The girls head down the stairs.

- 2,740 XP ea. for 18,810 XP ea. total.

Double Spelunking - April 22, 2016

- Description of a rather painful interview experience
- Luckily April has Fireball to take care of the problem

- T heals the tied up Fish-Person, then begs the F & S to tie it more nicely and in a hut out of the weather, she casts Tongues on herself and talks with him
- T brings him some water in a bowl, he thanks her for the water
- They continue walking N, and F sees the Fish-People occasionally keeping an eye on them from the water and behind bushes and things
- S is too distracted by T's constant crying to be as watchful
- They stop to let T find some prayer beads in her pack, which she immediately begins to worry
- After some more walking they stop for S to sense the magicky presence again, and T gets the idea to do a Sending to Alethra, " Need guidance. Island Fish-People attacked for entering territory while trying to recover dangerous artifact. We killed many. Are we wrong? Mishakal will revoke gifts?"
- Alethra responds, "Thessalie, remember your errand is for the greater good. Many will benefit from your success. Be merciful when possible. Protect those you can. Be strong."
- S climbs a tree to look ahead, and she sees another group of Fish-People standing on the path ahead. The only way to go around them at this point would be to trudge through the swamp
- FST continue up the path towards the group, but S readies her Wand of Web.
- As they approach the Fish-People start waving, so T asks them to stop so she can cast Tongues on herself, she asks the Fish-People if they will let them pass and they move off the path.
- F notices that T's feet seem to be sinking into the path, but before she really has a chance to say anything, S & T fall into a pit that's about 20' deep and has about 5' of water in it.
- T starts struggling with her heavy pack since the water is over her head and S, who can just stand starts sinking when T grabs her to try not to drown

- SKILLS CHALLENGE
- F tries to see something in the walls that her friends can grab not to sink, but then the Fish-People start throwing dirt into the hole (Perception - Failed)
- T immediately bandages a cut on her arm and dabs some salve on S's forehead to keep the dirt (Medicine - Success!)
- S starts minutely examining the walls and starts trying to find a path up the side of the pit (Investigation - Success!)
- F charges into the Fish-People and knocks several of them over, so they freak out and start running away (Acrobatics - Success!)
- T hangs her heavy pack on a root and digs out some more rope, which she then has to persuade F to calm down and catch the rope (Persuasion - Success!)
- S calms down once she can breath again and casts Misty Step to teleport herself out of the hole (Arcana - Success!)
- F tried to use a tree to wrap the rope around so she can pull T up with less work, but the tree breaks an falls over the hole so it's spanning the pit (Survival - Failure)
- T sighs about her packs getting even wetter, then starts the rope swinging and jumps at the height of the arc to the side of the pit (Acrobatics - Success!)

- FST then haul T's pack up out of the pit
- (Then the players stop and have Russian Sunrises because why not?)
- T asks S if she can dry her pack, but she can't do it instantly, so they camp in S's spell Leomund's Tiny Hut with some Prestidigitation fires to dry T's and S's things

- The next morning the girls walk until the path ends at a door. A cellar-like door built into a mound of earth
- F checks the door for traps and she doesn't see anything and S doesn't sense any magic wards either
- T wants to knock on the door, but S doesn't want anyone to know they're coming "Let's ask forgiveness rather than permission."
- It's very dark in the hole, so S casts a little hand light with Prestidigitation. There's a large-ish room with stone walls into which water is leaking through the walls, and leaking down into the open archway on the far side of the room. She leads them onward and downward.
- The first room had some random rubble, but in the second room has a few arrows laying on the floor, and a skeleton with an arrow lodged in its rib cage. The far side of this room also has an open archway.
- T goes to sprinkle some holy water and say a little prayer for the unknown corpse, and she trips a plate in the floor which shoots arrows over her head as she bends over. There's definitely a little squeak. It's adorable.
- S calls, "Don't move!" S & F look around and S notices where the plates are and sets an arrow on each of the plate to mark where not to step.
- The next room has a step down into the room, and it's flooded to a depth of about 3'. There seem to be two doorways with closed doors on the long side of the long sunken room
- T takes 10 minutes and casts Water Walk on FST.
- They cross the top of the water to the open door, but a little fish bites T's boot and won't let go until she thumps it.
- S is caught up with looking at the little fish, but F & T notices shark-like fins.
- T cries "But the water's only 3' deep!?"

- Battle of the Underground Pond
- S head snaps around and she immediately casts Fireball on all three of the Sharks, S1 takes 14 fire dmg, S2 takes 14 fire dmg, S3 takes 28 fire dmg
- T casts Warding Bond on F then moves over to the steps that lead to he first doorway
- S1 moves to F and tried to bite her, but she dodges.
- S3 moves to F and bites her for 9 piercing dmg
- F stabs S3 with her magicky dagger for 6 piercing dmg and then with her other dagger for 1 piercing dmg
- S2 moves to F bites her for 15 piercing dmg
- S casts Thunderwave on all the sharks, S1 takes 14 thunder dmg and pushes it 10' back from F, S2 the same, S3 the same
- T casts Guiding Bolt on S3 and kills it with her radiant might!
- S1 moves back to F and misses her
- F activates the poison on her magicky dagger and stabs S1 for 9 poison dmg and 8 piercing dmg, and she kills it! She moves to the steps next to T
- S2 moves to F and bites her for 4 piercing dmg
- S casts Melf's Acid Arrow on the final shark, but she miss aims and it only takes 1 acid dmg
- T casts Sacred Flame, but misses
- F stabs S2 for 9 piercing with her primary dagger and then for 2 piercing dmg with her other dagger
- S2 bites at F, but misses
- S casts Fire Bolt at and kills S2.

- T jiggles the knob on the door at which she is standing, but it's locked.
- F picks the lock and the door swings open. . . (F still has Waring Bond for another whole hour!)

- 2,070 XP ea. for 16,070 XP total each.

- S stops and tries again to get a sense of the magic on the island, and it seems to be north of the girls
- They head north after breakfast.

- As they approach the center of town, a group of Fish People are blocking the path that leads north

- 1,440 XP ea. for 13,400 total XP ea.

Arrival at the Grasping Claw Cape - March 25, 2016

- FST decide over T's reviving snack that the Heart is a lost cause and they should try to collect the other bits while trying to figure out how to permanently destroy them
- They decide to go get the Arm from the Grasping Claw Cape since it's closest, and then they'll go for the Mouth (and hopefully beat Eris to it)
- They get one more good night's rest, then Gerard gives them presents at breakfast!
- Thessalie gets a necklace with a large-ish blue orb in the middle, smaller green orbs flanking the central one, and two even smaller ones on the outside of that. It lets her cast Greater Restoration (blue), Cure Wounds (green), and Bless (orange) once per day per orb.
- S gets a ring that can store up to 5 levels of spells! Thessalie immediately casts Prayer of Healing into it taking up two of its level slots.
- F gets a magicky dagger that can poison stuff! It's got a wicked-looking skull on the blade just below the hilt, and the once per day the eyes can ooze a viscous liquid that will coat the blade and then the next creature that is attacked gets poisoned.
- Gerard then casts a spell on the girls so that they sort of dissolve and travel on the winds to the largest island of the middle "claw" where they reconstitute as themselves. It's now dusk as even using this method of travel, it's taken most of the day to cover the distance.
- T is disconcerted, though she can't pronounce it, and F can't wait to do it again.
- S stops a moment and concentrates, and says she feels a magic something further inland.
- There are a lot of paths leading through the marsh, so FST take the one that seems to head most directly to the center of the island.
- After a short time, FST come to what seems to be a man bent over digging in the dirt.
- F sneaks around and sees that the "person" has a big fishy head directly on his shoulders (no neck) and four-fingered, webby hands.
- She comes back and says that he doesn't look that dangerous.
- FST approach the fishy-man, and T "hullo"s
- He barks and a bunch of other fish heads pop up out of the marsh all around them.

Research Gone Awry - March 4, 2016

- Banana Slicer hilarity!

- FST spend a few days recuperating, researching, Mending, and such with Gerard

Sharai learns from Gerard and / or his library:
- Lionshead Island is home to 3 adult dragons
      - Dagarth, a fiery, red dragon who is the youngest of the three, lives near the volcano. He collects fairly traditional treasures. His breath weapon is fire.
      - Gerard is a green dragon who collects books. He "breaths" poison.
      - Eris is a blue dragon who is possibly the most magical and powerful being Gerard knows. He says she is "great & terrible" and believes her influence to stretch far beyond the island. Gerard believes that she was old when he was young. She collects power and spits lightning.
- On dragons in general:
      - Dragons lay hundreds of eggs at a time, but when they hatch they fight and cannibalize each other until only a few (or possibly only one) survive
      - Dragons can shape change to look like a human (obviously as that's how the girls met Gerard)
      - Dragons have a breath weapon, the element of which is based on their scale color.
- About Lellzutho:
      - He is a demigod from the Elemental Chaos
      - He was summoned here by a power-greedy sorcerer
      - The sorcerer became possessed by him and then became an engine of destruction
      - Lellzutho destroyed an entire country and killed many millions or people.
      - He was eventually defeated through a combination of deception, luck, and powerful magics.
      - He "flew into bits", so these artifacts are probably bits of him.
- Sharai also learned the spell Thunderwave from one of Gerard's many tomes on magic.

- There is more discussion about what to do about the Lellzutho bits.
- S tells T to ask Gerard if he will ask for a meeting with Eris to see if she can help destroy them
- Gerard arranges the meeting with Eris at a neutral location
- At the meeting, Eris arrive as a blue dragon who transforms into a cloud of lightning while still flying and then the lightning condenses into the form of a very tall woman with solid black eyes (no pupil, iris, or sclera)
- She is very interested to see that so many of the Lellzutho artifacts are surfacing. She's known the location of the Heart for a long time, and she believes it is time to take it for herself.
- She does not believe that she can destroy the artifacts, and she's not sure she would want to either, but if they can discover what the essence of the artifact is, then the opposite of that essence might destroy it.
- They experiment with the Hand by having Thessalie cast Mending on it to see if healing / creation magic would destroy a piece of a demigod of chaos / destruction. It does not work and T has the magical equivalent of having the breath knocked out of her.
- The meeting ends and Eris goes off to claim the Heart for herself.
- Gerard takes the girls back to his well-appointed caves, where some food helps T to revive her spirits a bit.
- More discussion about what to do with no real conclusion.

In the Library of the Book Wyrm - February 26, 2016

- Oreo churros for Katie's 30th!

- Thessalie wakes up warm and comfy in a soft bed - She enjoys this for a brief moment before realizing that she went to sleep on the cold, rocky ground, so this is probably bad.
- She sits up slowly and looks around for her elven companions.
- Felosyal and Sharai are also asleep in beds over there similar to T's. They are probably also warm and comfy.
- This is doubly disconcerting since elves don't actually sleep.
- T dashes over and to S who is closer "Wake up! Wake up! Wake up! Wake up!" (But gently, she is a healer after all.) A very groggy S mutters something about only using a bed for fucking.
- F also wakes up and attempts to draw a couple of daggers, but she doesn't have any. No one is wearing armor either. All the girls are pretty much in their underthings.
- All their stuff is just in a pile over there, though. FST gather their things and get dressed.
- They've started discussing where they might be when the door opens and a very tall, broad-shouldered man with a long, red beard (with the pale complexion to match) enters the nicely decorated room.
- He found them passed out in the rocky plains where the volcano off-gases.
- S can sense that he positively drips with magic.
- Lionshead Island may have some patchy connections to the Elemental Chaos, especially near the volcano, Gerard informs them when they ask about the rock monsters.
- S & T are being awfully chatty and silly. They start pondering back and forth if Gerard is to be trusted and what all that magic might mean.
- S: "Maybe he is Lellzutho." G: "I'm standing right here!"
- F asks him about the artifact they came to find.
- Gerard says that if there is anything that seems like a precious gem, the dragon Daganth has probably found it and added it to his collection.
- T asks how he knows Daganth's name.
- "We've met."
- T asks Gerard if he's a dragon.
- He answers vaguely and evasively without actually answering the question.
- T decides he is definitely a dragon in human form and ask if he's really Daganth. He is not Daganth. She is nearly exploding with excitement to tell her brother Eldon that she's been to a volcano and talked to a dragon. Gerard winks at her. Then she remembers that Eldon took a treasure map to the Emberwood in Rhoanor and probably needs rescuing and gets sad.
- S asks Gerard if he could tell the other dragon to put special spells and traps and things on the Heart (assuming that he has it). If not, they will give it to him, since they don't want it to have, they only want it to keep Talathon from having it.
- Gerard invites S to use his library if she'll be extremely careful with some of the older manuscripts (down the hall and on the left) and T can make a cake (down the hall on the right) as she likes, but he has an errand to run as it's getting on towards the middle of the afternoon and excuses himself.
- T chatters a bit more while making the beds, and she sees a green dragon fly past the glazed windows (this cave is very swanky). She gets super excited again, and extra wants to make him a cake so that she can tell Eldon she had cake with a dragon.
- FST go to explore the library and kitchen.
- The library is huge. Hugely massive. The biggest room any of them have ever seen. The library that the Beast gives Belle could fit into it at least four times, maybe more. It's five or six stories tall with mezzanines and spiral staircases and sliding ladders. It's very irregularly shaped with lots of nooks and crannies, though the central area is as big as two royal ballrooms combined (not that FS or T have ever been in a royal ballroom, but they can imagine.)
- T is boggled. She was going to see if he had a book on healing lore which she didn't already know, but she immediately wonder how she would ever find such a thing.
- S examines a few of the nearer shelves to get an idea of the organizational scheme and after a bit decides to start looks through that shelf over there to see if there is any information about the Keepers of Lellzutho.
- S finds a book that looks pretty promising information-wise, but is afraid to touch it because it looks like it's going to fall apart.
- S calls over T from where she was looking at the spines of some books over there to see if she can Mend it.
- T comes over from her unfruitful search, and Mends the book. Her powers have improved enough the the book looks as good as new. Considering the size of this library, she decided Gerard must really love books, so if she can repair some of his books that would be better for him than a cake to thank him for saving them. She goes on a Mending spree on all the books she can easily reach (the bottom three shelves.)
- S starts to say that maybe T shouldn't mess with someone else's stuff, but there is no stopping the tiny power house when she gets an idea like this one. She gives up and goes over to a convenient table to read about Lellzutho.
- Neither S nor T notice F leave the library after a very short time to investigate the kitchen. She finds a banquet table covered with a selection of meats, vegetables, cheeses, and fruits. She has a nice meal and then sets to repairing and cleaning her equipment with the odd snack here and there. While getting another apple, she realizes that it looks exactly like the first apple she had a few hours ago and is in exactly the same location in the bowl from which she took the first one. On a closer examination it doesn't look like anyone has taken any food off the table at all though she has been enjoying eating not-travel-rations. She concludes the table must be enchanted to never run out of food, though she doesn't catch it regrowing anything.
- S discovers that Lellzutho was a minor god of destruction and chaos and the Keepers were a group who defeated him and are (supposedly) trying to keep him from returning to reek havock on the world (again).
- Near the end of the afternoon a few hours later, Gerard comes back to find S pouring over a stack of books nearish the door. He asks her if she's found what she was looking for, and she starts to explain to him what's she found, and about how she thinks she and her companions have made an error in their judgement about Talathon belonging to the Keepers of Lellzutho, and now she believes he is stealing from the Keepers, when T runs up.
- T skids to a stop in front of Gerard and says "Gerard! Gerard! Gerard" This started before the skidding to a stop, "I the-opposite-of-damaged your books!" She puts both of her tiny little fists under her chin to frame the ear to ear grin.
- Gerard and S follow the dashing T back to where she has been Mending the oldest books she could find for several hours.
- Gerard's face goes very blank for a moment, giving Sharai a bit of a quiver before he says "This is glorious! Can you do more?"
- He shows T to his bookshelf of extremely worn favorites and she gets to work Mending those.
- G then tells S that he spoke to Daganth who refused to admit if he owned or even knew about the Heart, but from his knowledge of the dragon and his behaviors, he suspects that Daganth does indeed possess the Heart.
- S is worried that even if they warn Daganth Talathon will somehow be able to steal the Heart from him, and that it and all the other artifacts should probably be destroyed to prevent them from bring even more death and destruction than they once did.
- F asks Gerard if he's really a dragon where his treasure is.
- Gerard says that dragons don't necessarily hold treasure per se. They tend to collect things which they believe possess value.
- T: "You're a book wyrm! You collect books! That's way better than gold!"
- F twists her mouth into a disagreeing shape, but doesn't say anything.
