Back Story

Sharai grew up in the elven city of Ambani which is the sister city of the human city of Beryland. The sister cities were on the outer path of the war. Some of the elves chose to retreat and some elves chose to stay and fight with their human neighbors.

Sharai was in the last year of her apprenticeship when the war was starting. Her age and the fact that she hadn't finished her schooling meant her parents and mentors discouraged her from joining the war effort. She left for the war with just a letter telling them she was leaving.

During the war, magic users were used as front line critical tactical weapons. As a teenager who looked quite adult, this meant that she was put into situations where caused her to mature rapidly.

Sharai hasn't heard from her parents and extended family since she left to join the war. She left without telling them, and she doesn't know how welcome she would be to return home.

Sharai put off the last year of her apprenticeship to join the war, though she got a lot of training under very talented wizards during the conflict, she is technically a drop-out.

Sharai became a wizard because she was tested during the regular aptitude tests given elves when they reach the age of education. Over her time in school she worked hard, studied harder and became one of the top wizards in her age group.
